Animalier & Veggie + RND pixels

A project by Marco Brianza

The exhibition ANIMALIER & VEGGIE + RND PIXELS complements the workshop WEMAKECOLRS II on March 18th and shows the development of Marco Brianza as a light artist.

As a trained computer specialist he uses digital technologies, photograph and light-emitting diodes to create moved pictures from light. He is particularly interested in the interplay of space and time and of chance and interaction. In 2012 he creates "100% random", a work from 100 small LEDs. They are controlled by a Geiger counter which registers the natural radioactivity of the surroundings and generates colors at random. Animalier (2015) and Veggie (2016) are based on the color variations of different animal and plant patterns. Starting point is in each case a photo showing the structure of fur, feathers or skin of an animal or of fruit or vegetables. A virtual camera scans the photo and tapes step by step the colors which appear then on a luminous display.
