UNDERWATER

A poetic light and sound installation

A project by Lena Kleineidam and Nadine Wagner

Within the installation, the River Main becomes a resounding protagonist and visual pulse generator. Sounds of the river are translated into light impulses in a sculpture of light filaments and create a kind of urban musical score. The sounds of the Main were already recorded at different places and different times under water and reworked into a score: a composition flowing between fluid and rigid forms. The light/sound sculpture is installed on the surface of the Main, flows back into the river and works proactively with the current. Thus, through the Main, whose underwater recordings are converted into light impulses, the currents can be experienced.
