White Album

A project by Heiner Blum

In our city center, businesses and warehouse use neon signs to advertise and grab the attention of the public.  As basic element, simple Plexiglas light boxes in the form of a cube or a sign often serve to communicate the names and messages.

For his installation WHITE ALBUM, Heiner Blum reduces these light boxes into white, illuminated minimalistic objects, which apparently only refer to themselves and seemingly condense the shopping world of the city center into an abstract form.
